Church School Registration 2009/10

Faith Formation Registration Information 2009-2010.  This year we are using a single registration form for Faith Formation classes.  In an effort to be green and decrease the number of times parents need to write their name and address we ask you to use the enclosed Faith Formation Registration Form for Church School and Confirmation.  Registration Weekend will be March 28 & 29 in the Fellowship Hall at all services.

Baptism:  Jesus calls you by name through Baptism and He continues to call you today.  We strongly encourage families to have their child(ren) baptized if they have not already done so.  If you are interested in baptism, please contact the church office and speak with one of the Pastors.

Attendance:  Regular attendance is necessary for your child to learn more about being a member of the church community.  Families are asked to make Church School and Confirmation a priority in your family schedule.

All Communication about Faith Formation programming and opportunities will be available through Holy Trinity Today the monthly newsletter, on the website at www.htlcankeny.org and in our Faith Formation Handbook that will be distributed at the beginning of the school year.

Wednesday Nights: Holy Trinity offers a supper for families the Upper Room Café, 4:45-5:45 in the Fellowship Hall.  Meals are $3 per person with a $10 cap for a family.  We also have two children’s choirs that meet on Wednesdays at 5:30PM; Cherub Choir is for 1st – 3rd graders and Celebration Choir is for 4th – 6th graders.

Church School Sessions:  Church school is available for all children (members and non-members) Age 3 – sixth grade.  The Church School year begins September 16 and ends May 5.   Children must be three by September 15, 2009 to enroll in the Preschool 1 (P1) class; Preschool 2 is for four year olds that will attend school in the fall of 2010.  We offer four sessions of church school, each session used the same curriculum and format.  Sundays 9:30AM and 11AM, Wednesdays 4PM or 6PM. If we do not have enough teachers to staff a session of Church School, there is the possibility that we may have to cancel that session.

Church School Volunteers:  We need parents and other members of the church to prayerfully consider teaching church school, being a substitute teacher or to volunteer in the supply room or act as a Hall Monitor during Church School sessions.  Time Commitment is 1 hour a week in the classroom and about an hour a week preparing the lesson.  Teacher Orientation will be Wednesday, August 26, 7-8:30PM or Thursday, August 27, 10-11:30 AM.  If you have questions about volunteering your time or would be interested in being teamed with another volunteer please feel free to contact Jonette Knock, Children’s Ministry Director.
