Hi! I’m Anne, the Youth Director here at
Holy Trinity (Since October 2007!)! I’m excited to be here and to be in
ministry with you all. I imagine it’s going to take me a while to get to
know everyone around Holy Trinity – there seems to be a lot of you!
I’ve met some you at worship on Sunday morning, at Confirmation events,
on Sunday evening bowling… when you see me, come up and say hi! I want
to meet you! Let me tell you a little something about me: I grew up in Canada and moved to Illinois in 1998 to attend Augustana College in Rock Island. After finishing my BA I attended the Iliff School of Theology in Denver Colorado. I worked in Confirmation and Adult Education ministries from 2004 to 2007. This past summer I started looking for opportunities to be involved in youth ministry full time. Holy Trinity Lutheran Church was too good to pass up! So far I am really enjoying my time here at Holy Trinity and in Ankeny! WITNESS youth ministries focus on youth from 6th grade to 12th grade. Our middler ministry is for youth in 6th, 7th and 8th grade. High School ministry is for students in 9th through 12th grade. We try to do two events a month – one service oriented event and one “just for fun” event. Check out our bulletin boards, calendars and bulletin inserts. Elaine has been on staff for 9 years as our
Parish Health Minister. Her duties include: Promoting congregational
members to view health holistically, be better consumers of health care
and understand the church's role in maintaining and enhancing good
health. Assisting the pastoral staff in providing care, support, nurture/ministry to members of crisis, illness, transition or difficulty. Act as an advocate for the person or family within the community with respects to health care issues. Plan for and support the Mathew 25 ministry areas which include over thirty different outreach projects. Work with Health Cabinet to provide support for families suffering grief, celebrating births, planning annual health fair, plan education opportunities for congregation relating to health, serve as a clearing house for several outreach projects, in general find the hurts of the people and try to help. Affirm the healing power of prayer and assist with healing services for the congregation. Before coming to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church she worked with Lutheran Social Services of Minnesota. She served as the program manager for two programs covering four counties of the north for twenty years. Most of her personal interests revolve around nature, such as sailing, canoeing, kayaking swimming, fishing, camping, hiking and allowing God's creation to renew her spirit in many ways. She currently serves with the Iowa Crisis Response Teams, Enduring Families of the Iowa National Guard, and has recently returned from a trip to Mississippi working with Katrina relief. . She loves her job here at HTLC and looks forward to serving her God and this congregation! |

My family, which consists of my husband
Brent, and our children, Chloe, 16; Quinn, 12; and Eli 7, have been
members at HTLC since 1994. My involvement with HTLC started and
continues to revolve around my children. Through the years, I have
taught church school and VBS; coordinated VBS; coordinated Women’s
Ministries; served on the Preschool Board and as a confirmation guide.
Outside of the “kid” things, I enjoy our small group; M2M; Esther Circle. Each opportunity has provided a privilege to meet other people and serve within the Community of Believers. In August 2007, I joined the HTLC Team as the part-time Youth and Family Associate, which essentially involves supporting the youth, children, and confirmation directors and their respective ministries. |
